Spare Chair Acceptable Use Policy

This policy forms part of the Spare Chair Terms of Service (terms-of-service.md). It applies to everyone who uses the Service under your account.

1. You must not

Use the Service to break any law. This includes consumer protection law on pricing and promotions, competition law, and data protection law.
Use the Service to agree or coordinate prices with competitors, or to share your prices with them through us.
Set Guardrails or prices that mislead your clients. For example, a fake "was" price or a discount from a price you never really charged.
Use the Service to discriminate against clients on a protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010.
Connect a Booking Platform account you are not authorised to control.
Break the terms of your Booking Platform through the Service.
Try to get unauthorised access to the Service, other customers' data, or our systems.
Probe, scan or test the Service for weaknesses without our written permission. If you find a security issue, report it to team@sparechair.io.
Reverse engineer, decompile or copy the Service, except where law allows it despite this restriction.
Scrape, crawl or bulk extract data from the Service or the dashboard.
Use the Service or its outputs to build a competing product.
Overload the Service, for example by sending excessive API requests.
Upload malware or harmful code.
Share login details or resell access, unless your Order allows it.
Upload personal data we do not need, or special category data such as health data, unless we agree in writing.

2. Your staff and clients

You are responsible for how your staff use the Service. You are also responsible for telling your clients anything the law requires about how you set prices.

3. What we may do

If we reasonably believe you have broken this policy, we may:

warn you;
pause Autopilot or other features;
suspend your account under the Terms of Service; or
end the contract if the breach is serious or repeated.

Where practical, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

4. Changes

We may update this policy. We will give notice of material changes by email or in the dashboard.
